The most challenging task of current design profession is to transform from a design culture that is rooted in industrial production and post-modernistic thinking into a design culture that gives way to ecological, social, and economic sustaining forms of habitation and living.
This massive change implies for design(ers) to develop new insights, new terms of understanding of what design is, as well new methods for design production. The task for design discipline moves from intelligent design towards the development of design intelligence. Every designer, user and artefact is recognized as an agent in the collective process of artificial world making. This will be the point of departure for thinking about design for future generations users of goods, services, and experiences.
